SuiteWorld 2026: What's New, What's Next and What's Right for Your Business?

Categories

“ERP as we know it is over.”

That was the bold message from Oracle NetSuite founder Evan Goldberg during his SuiteWorld 2026 keynote.

And with NetSuite Next rolling out and new developments including AI Workspaces, SuiteSkills and SuiteAgents, it’s clear that the way businesses use NetSuite is changing.

But once the presentations are over and everyone is back at their desks, there’s a more practical question to answer: how do you turn these developments into improvements your business will actually notice?

It’s one thing to see new functionality demonstrated at SuiteWorld. It’s another to work out how it fits alongside your existing systems, processes and plans for the business.

SuiteWorld 2026: The key announcements

A few developments stood out at this year’s event:

  • NetSuite Next continues its rollout. The AI-powered experience brings new ways for users to interact with business information and complete tasks.
  • AI Workspaces and AI Portlets introduce more contextual ways to access information, investigate issues and work within NetSuite.
  • More than 45 SuiteSkills provide prebuilt AI capabilities for activities including financial variance analysis, revenue leakage and inventory management.
  • SuiteAgents extend AI into more specialised, industry-specific business processes.
  • Ask Oracle is being enhanced to help users explore information and get answers through natural-language interactions.
  • SuiteExpress introduces AI-assisted tools and methodology designed to accelerate NetSuite implementations and ongoing improvements.

Together, these announcements point towards a NetSuite environment where more of the routine investigation, analysis and administrative work can be handled within the system itself.

But what does that look like in practice?

The best place to start might be something that’s already frustrating your team

Every business has those processes that take longer than they should.

The report that needs three spreadsheets before anyone trusts the numbers. The approval that gets stuck because nobody knows whose turn it is. The month-end task that still involves exporting data, checking it manually and putting it back together again.

Sound familiar?

These are the places where NetSuite’s latest developments could make a real difference.

Take month-end close. The new Autonomous Close AI Workspace is designed to help finance teams identify and resolve accounting issues throughout the reporting period, rather than leaving everything until month-end. And with new SuiteSkills supporting variance analysis and reconciliation investigations, teams could spend less time gathering information and more time resolving problems.

Or consider reporting. Instead of navigating through multiple screens and reports to find an answer, NetSuite Next introduces a different way of working. With Ask Oracle, users can ask questions about their business data in everyday language, while AI Portlets can turn those requests into dashboard insights and visualisations.

For businesses managing inventory, new SuiteSkills and industry-specific SuiteAgents could help identify stock imbalances, investigate fulfilment delays and support decisions before small issues become bigger problems.

The starting point is understanding where your business is experiencing these frustrations. Where are people losing time? What information is difficult to access? Which tasks regularly create delays?

Those answers give new technology a purpose.

Your existing NetSuite setup has a part to play

Here’s something that doesn’t tend to feature heavily in keynote presentations: the years of configurations, integrations, customisations and workarounds that make every NetSuite environment different.

As businesses grow, their NetSuite environments evolve too. New processes, integrations and ways of working are introduced, which means adding new functionality isn’t always as straightforward as switching it on.

Take AI-assisted reporting. It might offer a faster way to investigate financial information, but if the underlying data is inconsistent or teams are using different reporting definitions, those issues still need addressing.

The same applies to automation.

If a process involves unclear approvals, duplicated information or manual workarounds, automating it without reviewing how it works could simply make a complicated process happen faster.

Before introducing new capabilities, it’s worth reviewing how your current NetSuite environment supports the business.

Are your configurations still appropriate? Are integrations working as intended? Are teams using the functionality available to them?

Getting these foundations right can make a considerable difference to the success of whatever comes next.

A technology roadmap should follow the business, not the release calendar

SuiteWorld gives customers a view of where NetSuite is heading. Your technology roadmap needs to take that vision and make it work for your organisation.

That means considering more than product announcements.

Perhaps your business is planning to expand into new markets, introduce another revenue stream or acquire another company.

Those plans could change what you need from NetSuite over the next 12 to 24 months.

A growing organisation might need better consolidation and reporting across subsidiaries. A manufacturer might be focused on improving inventory visibility. A finance team preparing for increased transaction volumes might be looking for ways to reduce manual processing.

These business priorities should help shape the order in which you introduce improvements.

Timing matters too.

NetSuite Next is being rolled out in phases, and not all the capabilities announced at SuiteWorld 2026 will be available to every customer immediately.

Rather than treating the announcements as a single project, it makes sense to consider what can be improved now, what requires preparation and what belongs further down your roadmap.

That way, your NetSuite plans support where the business is going, rather than becoming a separate list of technology upgrades.

Don’t forget the people who have to use it

Even the most impressive new functionality won’t deliver much value if nobody changes how they work.

And that can be easy to overlook when the focus is on what the technology can achieve.

Your finance team might have a perfectly good reason for using a spreadsheet outside NetSuite. Perhaps the current report doesn’t provide the information they need, or they’ve developed a workaround because an existing process is too slow.

Understanding those reasons is important before introducing something new.

Involving the people who use NetSuite every day can help identify the problems worth solving, test whether proposed improvements actually work and uncover issues that might otherwise be missed.

It also gives employees an opportunity to understand how new AI capabilities fit into their responsibilities.

For some teams, that could mean spending less time gathering information and more time reviewing results, investigating exceptions or making decisions.

The technology may change the process, but the people using it will have a significant influence on whether that change succeeds.

So, where does SuiteWorld 2026 leave NetSuite customers?

There’s plenty to look forward to following this year’s announcements.

NetSuite is continuing to develop new ways for organisations to automate processes, access information and make better use of the data already in their systems.

But the real opportunity lies in connecting those developments with the wider business.

That could mean revisiting a process that hasn’t been reviewed in years, preparing your environment for new AI capabilities or updating your technology roadmap to support the next stage of growth.

Whatever the starting point, the goal is the same: a NetSuite environment that continues to evolve alongside your business.

The announcements might give you the ideas. A good roadmap is what turns them into results.
