The Role of AI in NetSuite: Leveraging Intelligent Automation

This year, Oracle NetSuite is introducing many new, cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI) enhancements to its leading, cloud-based enterprise resource planning (ERP) platform. The 2025.1 release includes an extensive list of new AI-enabled functionalities that provide everything from intelligent financial forecasting to automated anomaly detection and auto-generated insights and dashboards.

“The integration of cutting-edge AI into NetSuite’s 2025.1 release marks a pivotal moment, empowering businesses with unprecedented levels of intelligence and automation across their core operations,” says someone Tony Fidler, Managing Director at SANSA Solutions. “These AI-driven capabilities will transform how our customers make decisions, optimise processes and ultimately drive significant growth and efficiency.”

According to NetSuite, the new release’s AI capabilities include (but aren’t limited to):

  • The NetSuite Narrative Reporting module, part of NetSuite Enterprise Performance Management (EPM), can now draft detailed narratives and concise explanations from financial and transactional data, including insights into trends, variances, and time-based comparisons using generative AI (Gen AI).
  • The SuiteAnswers knowledge center is now leveraging AI-powered NetSuite Expert, which uses retrieval augmented generation (RAG) capabilities from Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), to search the help and support content, then create a concise answer to a NetSuite-related question so users don’t have to sift through multiple documents. For example, users can ask how-to questions in natural language and an AI agent will analyse thousands of support articles to instantly deliver specific answers and actionable insights.
  • A new AI assistant for NetSuite Analytics Warehouse, powered by the Oracle Analytics AI Assistant, can generate charts and other data visualisations based on natural language requests. New features powered by GenAI include Auto-Insights that auto-generates with a single click, a collection of visualisations that slice the data for varied high-level insights, and the “explain” feature builds on those results by digging deeper.
  • Text Enhance for custom fields helps organisations improve the speed and accuracy of data entry with generative AI capabilities that leverage relevant company data to populate custom fields. Using Prompt Studio, administrators and developers can now configure AI-generated text suggestions in the intended format, tone, and creativity level for any custom text field in NetSuite to help improve data quality and enhance AI-assisted workflows.
  • Prompt Management API helps organisations simplify AI integrations and customisations by centralising the management and deployment of prompts used by large language models in NetSuite. This new API enables customers and partners, including members of the SuiteCloud Developer Network (SDN) and NetSuite Alliance Partner Program, to programmatically control NetSuite Text Enhance prompts and actions and easily integrate generative AI features into SuiteApps or custom NetSuite solutions.
  • NetSuite CPQ AI Assistant helps organisations accelerate sales processes, increase customer satisfaction, and improve the user experience by providing an AI agent that supports sellers (B2B) and buyers (B2C) as they configure products and services. With the new AI agent, NetSuite CPQ can recommend a suitable product configuration based on a natural language conversation and provide a summary of why the options were selected.

Specific Use Cases for AI

NetSuite’s other AI-enabled functionalities, (which have been introduced across the suite over the last couple of years) and their specific use cases in the business world include:
